evidence of someone

Typical night...me on the computer...kiddos are tucked in and fast asleep...husband is taking a shower...that's when it starts! I really should be in bed because I'll be whining about not getting enough sleep tomorrow, but I can't. Just ONE more post...that's right, I'm BLOG-STALKING! Tonight, it was Becky Higgins via Sera Snapshots. She had the cutest post about the "evidence of someone." Do you have evidence of someone's existence in your home? Here are mine:
I spared you Mike's Shoe Mess & My Laundry Pile-Up! I'm sure you can imagine those! GOOD NIGHT!

P.S. Yes, that is a "Mi-Tee" chair set up for watching House of Mouse (starring Mi-Tee). One of my little someones put it there and insists that it stay there. Thank you for the chair Andrea & Justin!

Too be honest...I felt cool!

I was reading Donna's (Sera Snapshots) "Tagged" post and I never really knew what this tagging thing was all about. So, as I was reading, I thought, "Hmm...I hope she didn't tag me." Then, when I got to the bottom, I read that I did get tagged. BUT, my reaction surprised me! I was on the phone with my friend and I whisper-yelled, "YES!!!" I guess, I really wanted to be tagged. I think it made me feel like I was "picked for the team" (flashback to Junior High). I think it's a VeRy CuTe TaG. So, I jumped in (head first) and here is my picture and the story behind it:
This picture was taken in August 2007. Michael (my jock-stud stepson) was 10 years old. He was chosen to play (baseball, duh) with the Green Valley All-Stars 12 year old team (like I said...stud)! The team won state and advanced to the Western Regional Finals. We were in San Bernadino, CA (Maysie's first road trip!). It was so much fun (an experience of a lifetime)! They were like little "Major League" players. The field even had stadium seating. Well, we ended up taking 3rd place (sad, but very LONG story). First place advanced to the Little League World Series. On a positive, it was neat to know that we got that close (And, we even CREAMED the team that took 1st-when we played them the first time. Too bad it wasn't DoUbLe elimination)!

Thanks Donna...it was nice to revisit that event. I never really go back and look at old pictures too often!
Now, here are the rules to this tag:

1. Go to your documents/pictures.
2. Go to your 6th file.
3. Go to the 6th picture.
4. Blog about it.
5. Tag 6 other friends.

I tag: OMG! I just realized...I don't even have 6 friends that BLOG! (What a LoSeR, I am!) I guess I'll have to tag my NBBSFFs, too (that's Non Blogging But Stalking Friends Forever...that I love so much). Maybe this will be an incentive to Start A Blog (it'll make a good first post)!!!! Not sure if you can post pictures in the comments, but it is worth a try (if bloggin' ain't yo' thang)!
Drumroll...
1. Melissa-You know you didn't stand a chance slipping by this one!
2. Tricia-Sorry, Donna let you off the hook only for me to reel you back in!
3. Carrie-Love you much! (I'm smiling with my chin up!)
4. Tonya-You have many reasons to BLOG!!! Get started!
5. Nicole-You have many reasons to BLOG, too!!! It is in your blood! Get started!
6. Lau-Lau & Papa (my parents)-I know you won't start a blog. I just chose you to see if you could figure out how to leave a comment.

Check out her ArtWoRk...

First TaTtOo...
Where's Mickey???
I bet that elbow tattoo hurt! "Sss, Ouch..."
Little Rockstar Mommy... I think she left her baby at the tattoo parlor! Typical Hollywood...
Maysie thought they were band-aids and kept saying, " Sss, Ouch!" She also made us give her kisses on her "boo-boos!" It was fun to ask her where Donald, Daisy, Minnie, or Mickey were! Oh yeah, she can say, "Mi-tee" now, but prefers to call him, "Tee-Tee" still. Isn't it funny how their little minds work?

On another note, did you peep the little crawler in the back? And, why does my big, little baby look so "growed" up? Huh?!

Gung Hei Fat Choy!

That means Happy (Chinese) New Year... and it's fun for kids to say! I just copied/pasted some cool things about my peeps! My mom has always put the red envelope under my pillow at night. Mine was there this morning! So far, my "New Year" has been great. Who else wouldn't want money under their pillow first thing in the morning? Mylie woke up with her first AND second teeth this morning AND 3 red envelopes under her sheet protector. Maysie "found" her 3 red envelopes under her mattress (since they don't have pillows YET)!

The Year of the Ox

Today (Monday 1/26/09) begins the Year of the Ox in the Chinese Zodiac. People born under this sign are said to have these characteristics: dependable, calm, methodical, patient, hardworking, ambitious, conventional, steady, modest, logical, resolute, tenacious. Can be stubborn, narrow-minded, materialistic, rigid, demanding.

Things to do to celebrate

A simple thing to do today is make red envelopes out of construction paper and put $8 inside. Eight is considered lucky and the red envelopes with cash inside is a traditional gift. (You could use coins, but shouldn't with children under 3 because they can be a choking hazard!) You can give these to your children or have them give them to each other, then go out and get a treat or put in their piggy bank.

Some things you *SHOULD* do today to bring luck: open the windows and doors, eat sweets and change the sheets on the bed.

Some things *NOT* to do today: get a haircut, wear black or white, wash your hair, buy shoes or sweep the floor today. They're all considered "bad luck" for the new year.

You can also celebrate with your children by getting Chinese take out! It's easy and fun. If your children haven't tried Chinese food before a good bet is orange chicken, though it is usually fried. You could make a simple fried rice dish at home too!

I finally became "The Worst Mommy In The World"

Here's my confession...We went to Melissa's (from The White House) son's Birthday Party at Pump It Up last night. Maysie was enjoying her cupcake as you can see:Then, she tried to give some to Mylie. I assumed she was only sharing because she was finished. Huh! Not the case. I asked her if she was finished, and at the same time, she surrendered the cupcake. I guess she thought she was sharing with me because when I threw it away, this is what happened: Yes, that is a REAL tear in her left eye! And the hand over the face? That shows true heart break! So, to make amends and get back on her good list, I had to get a NEW cupcake. (SHH! Don't tell her that I scraped the top with all the frosting off.) Needless to say, she did not waste anytime finishing her NEW cupcake, nor did she attempt to share! I don't blame her.Really though...it wasn't me. The mean cupcake monster transformed to look like me. I was in the bathroom when that all happened! LOL!

Told you he was H.O.T!!

I LoVe BoYs WiTh TaTtOoS!--one of my little guilty pleasures...
I happened to be stalking a blog on The White House (Hi Melissa!) & saw a picture of this really hot guy. After reading the post, I found out that it was the guy who played James in the movie Twilight. (Yes, I still think about that movie. I'm reading Breaking Dawn now.) So, I thought he deserved a post on my blog. Don't worry, no second thoughts about my wonderful hubby. A girl can window shop, can't she? I'm married NOT buried!

A mover & a shaker...

Mylie is off and crawling! Too cute. The thighs will probably start to dwindle away. So, I'm off to get as many pictures of them while they are still so JuIcY!!

Move over Mike...I fell in love again!

This stroller was made with me in mind! I LoVe, LoVe, LoVe it!!!! It's the Phil & Ted's Sports Buggy with Doubles Kit! I saw a girl putting her kids in one while I was going to do some Christmas exchanging with Michael. I asked her about it and then I started my mission. I researched it right when I got home. Mike said I had to sell my Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller before I could get this one. So, I hopped on Craigslist (which I'm a total fan of now) & sold it within 2 days. I had 3 people call me about that stroller-crazy! Anyways, what makes this fancy stroller so special (you ask)?
  1. Weight 24 lbs. vs. Graco 47 lbs.
  2. Steering really can steer with one hand (This baby can turn corners on a dime!)
  3. Folds up small. (Like a single stroller.)
  4. The back seat is private. (Maysie slept for about an hour because she wasn't distracted at the mall.)
  5. Looks cool (not that I needed anything to make me look cooler- flourescent spandex came back in right? J/K LOL!)
  6. The wheels are the inflatable all-terrain kind. (Rocking the white walls!)
I could go on! The only negative thing is that you have to take the back seat off to fold it up, BUT it is SO super easy that it isn't a big deal at all.

P.S. Mike laughed at me for pushing the girls around the house for 3 days (because I was sick). I had to practice somewhere, right? My house was perfect for U-Turns, tight squeezes, & straight aways! Too bad they don't have a "Stroller Derby!" Ha ha ha!

Potty Trained Before TwO!!!

Ha ha ha ha! Just kidding! I love this picture though. Michele (my teaching partner) bought Potty Training Elmo for Maysie (for Christmas-Yes, we just exchanged gifts on Monday. I can have Christmas ALL year-yes, I am THAT person.)! Well, I caught Maysie sitting on Elmo's potty saying, "Poop, Poop, Suh-teenk-eee, pew pew!" (Translation: Poop, Poop, Stinky, PeeYoo, PeeYoo) That little lady always cracks me up!

The silly games we play to get a kiss...

As some of you might know, we converted our "formal dining room" into a "playroom" for the girls. We had to, after Mike brought home an inflatable bounce house (I think he secretly wanted one his whole life). Anyways, Maysie loves to jump in it and smoosh her face into the net. I would always kiss her through the net and push her back so that she would bounce off her booty. She loves this game. So, when Maysie is not in the "kissie" mood, I just take her to the bounce house and she showers me with kisses!!!

Take a time out...

Hey there my fellow BFF's! Feeling a "smidgen" (cough, cough) better (cough, cough). I'll spare you the rest of my coughs, that was just to give you an idea of how much I am coughing (break for a cough drop...I'm back)! No lungs on the table or broken ribs, but I did manage to cough so hard that a tiny vein in my eye popped. So, it looks like a red marker leaked on the bottom of my eyeball. Anyways, back to the point of this post. I would like for all of you to take a time out from your new year's resolutions, to "get in shape" or "lose weight," and admire these thighs. Beware, they have never been to the gym, never seen a Stairmaster, "heck" never even been for a walk... ...and aren't they AMaZiNg?!?!! Who (you ask) do these delicious thighs belong to? None other than my precious Mylie! That's right, she's "bringing chunky back! Those other babies don't know how to act! Uh!" (Shout out to JT for the song...umm, that's Justin Timberlake for all you ol' foggies.) I just love chunky baby legs! I'm jealous that only babies can pull off the look. I wouldn't have work out if that were the case. Now, back to your treadmills and bikes!!

Look Who Got A Makeover!

My BLOG!! Yeah! It was fun to play around and learn more about the inner workings of my blog. Anyhoo, not much to blog about. I've been sick since Friday, and I finally decided to go to the doctor. Now that I've got antibiotics in my system, maybe I'll be up for some late night blogging again. Don't worry, I have kissed the kids off to college yet. Maysie has only gotten more accustomed to saying the word...NO & Mylie has only gained 10 lbs. since my last post. (Just kidding, Mylie still isn't crawling, but smiles when she nose dives into the carpet & Maysie loves to cross her arms and say, "NO" while scrunching her face.)

P.S. I have been peeking in on my BFF's, though. Never to sick to see what my Blogging Buddies are up to. It's my "Chicken Soup for my Soul." LOL!

Only in the MoViEs!!!

Okay, I'm sure you've said to yourself, "my life would make a really good reality TV show or movie," right (especially with kids)? Well, this is a perfect example of why...let me set the stage...It was yesterday, I was driving home from the gym & Mike called. He was watching the girls so that I could go work out. Back up...Maysie started a mild fever on Friday & I didn't want to bring her to the gym. So, fast forward back to the phone call. Mike wanted to know if Maysie could have Tylenol because she felt very HOT! I told him to undress her & gave him the dosage. When I walked in, Maysie was fussy. My mom was holding her. I think my mom aged at that very moment (sorry, Mom). I took her temp & all three of us (Mike, my Mom & me) watched as the numbers climbed up & up & up! Finally, it stopped at 103.8*F (my mom said that her heart stopped & her eyes welled up with tears). Now, if you know me well, you would know that I take info very literally. So, when I heard that high temps can cause brain damage, I get SUPER nervous. Well, needless to say, I took her to Quick Care. It wasn't busy & we were seen right away (in & out in less than an hour...I know, unheard of right?). She has a double ear infection again!!! The Doc said that it could be a continuation of her last one. Well, I drove straight to CVS & begged the wonderful Pharm Tech to put a rush on her script so I could give her one dose before bedtime. He filled it right there-I wanted to KISS him! When I got home, Mike met me at the door (he was going to work out). Mylie was in her bouncer.

Now, here is the GOOD stuff... (not for weak tummies)! Maysie kept saying, "eat, eat." So, since that means hungry in our house, I fed her. Mylie was hungry, too! Picture a "picnic" on the living room floor minus a blanket. I was feeding Maysie Shells & Cheese with Cauliflower Puree secretly mixed in & Mylie Pureed Zucchini mixed in Baby Oatmeal. Maysie was so happy & bouncing between bites & Mylie sat laughing at her. Okay, rewind for one second, Maysie is smell & texture sensitive. She gags at the smell of Mylie's diapers & formula. She also gags at the sight of Mylie's mushy food. So, when she gagged once (after finishing her bowl), I thought nothing of it. Sure enough, IT came up! Down her chest, on the floor & projectiled on to me!!!! Eww! I sat trying to think of how to manuever the situation (all while trying to console Maysie). When I made my move, I forgot the Zucchini mush (within reach of Mylie). She took it upon herself to try and finish feeding herself (how she could even think of food given the lovely aroma burning my nostrils, I don't know). Food was everywhere. I'll spare you the graphic pics, but here is happy Mylie feeding herself. (Doesn't she look like she's saying, "What??! Somebody's got to feed me!")Okay, next scene, picture me (okay maybe not-not a pretty sight) shuffling kids to the bath with no pants. Gave the girls baths, settled them in front of the TV & finally got to the throw up & food mush (still pantless)! Once the mess was up, I put pants on, fed Mylie a bottle & put her to sleep. Sweet Maysie fell asleep on the couch. How cute! Worth all the Drama!

As the final credits are rolling, picture Maysie waking up at 1:00 am, watching Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas, me feeding Mylie (again) & Maysie & Mommy sleeping on the couch until 6:30 am. I don't know, but it sounds like Family comedy/drama to me!

P.S. I had to add this picture in, too! This was taken before Maysie woke up @ 1:oo am. She is a shoe girl & demands to wear them at all times. The minimal PJs are because of the fever & Tee-Tee is a necessity, too! I just love this picture!

My 9 for 2009

My keyword for 2009: LOVE!

Okay, I started to think about a list of "resolutions" for the new year, then I looked at Tricia's Blog & decided that I'm not going to pick myself apart (either) by making resolutions about things I want to change about myself. So, I decided I would list 9 things that I am looking forward to in 2009.

  1. Losing the rest of my baby weight!! (I'm already half way there!)
  2. Celebrating my 4th year of marriage (& 6th year together)!
  3. Potty Training Maysie!
  4. Teaching Mylie how to walk!
  5. Watching Michael enter into high school!!! (Yes, HIGH SCHOOL!)
  6. Seeing Maysie meet Mickey Mouse for the FiRsT time!! (That means going to Disneyland, folks!)
  7. Celebrating Mylie's FiRsT BiRtHdAy! (And, no more bottles!)
  8. Using my gift card for an 80 minute massage!
  9. Spending time with my family!
Sounds like a great year to me!! Any ideas for potty training? Have a great year!
