Okay, I'm sure you've said to yourself, "my life would make a really good reality TV show or movie," right (especially with kids)? Well, this is a perfect example of why...let me set the stage...It was yesterday, I was driving home from the gym & Mike called. He was watching the girls so that I could go work out. Back up...Maysie started a mild fever on Friday & I didn't want to bring her to the gym. So, fast forward back to the phone call. Mike wanted to know if Maysie could have Tylenol because she felt very HOT! I told him to undress her & gave him the dosage. When I walked in, Maysie was fussy. My mom was holding her. I think my mom aged at that very moment (sorry, Mom). I took her temp & all three of us (Mike, my Mom & me) watched as the numbers climbed up & up & up! Finally, it stopped at 103.8*F (my mom said that her heart stopped & her eyes welled up with tears). Now, if you know me well, you would know that I take info very literally. So, when I heard that high temps can cause brain damage, I get SUPER nervous. Well, needless to say, I took her to Quick Care. It wasn't busy & we were seen right away (in & out in less than an hour...I know, unheard of right?). She has a double ear infection again!!! The Doc said that it could be a continuation of her last one. Well, I drove straight to CVS & begged the wonderful Pharm Tech to put a rush on her script so I could give her one dose before bedtime. He filled it right there-I wanted to KISS him! When I got home, Mike met me at the door (he was going to work out). Mylie was in her bouncer.
Now, here is the GOOD stuff... (not for weak tummies)! Maysie kept saying, "eat, eat." So, since that means hungry in our house, I fed her. Mylie was hungry, too! Picture a "picnic" on the living room floor minus a blanket. I was feeding Maysie Shells & Cheese with Cauliflower Puree secretly mixed in & Mylie Pureed Zucchini mixed in Baby Oatmeal. Maysie was so happy & bouncing between bites & Mylie sat laughing at her. Okay, rewind for one second, Maysie is smell & texture sensitive. She gags at the smell of Mylie's diapers & formula. She also gags at the sight of Mylie's mushy food. So, when she gagged once (after finishing her bowl), I thought nothing of it. Sure enough, IT came up! Down her chest, on the floor & projectiled on to me!!!! Eww! I sat trying to think of how to manuever the situation (all while trying to console Maysie). When I made my move, I forgot the Zucchini mush (within reach of Mylie). She took it upon herself to try and finish feeding herself (how she could even think of food given the lovely aroma burning my nostrils, I don't know). Food was everywhere. I'll spare you the graphic pics, but here is happy Mylie feeding herself. (Doesn't she look like she's saying, "What??! Somebody's got to feed me!")Okay, next scene, picture me (okay maybe not-not a pretty sight) shuffling kids to the bath with no pants. Gave the girls baths, settled them in front of the TV & finally got to the throw up & food mush (still pantless)! Once the mess was up, I put pants on, fed Mylie a bottle & put her to sleep. Sweet Maysie fell asleep on the couch. How cute! Worth all the Drama!
As the final credits are rolling, picture Maysie waking up at 1:00 am, watching Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas, me feeding Mylie (again) & Maysie & Mommy sleeping on the couch until 6:30 am. I don't know, but it sounds like Family comedy/drama to me!
P.S. I had to add this picture in, too! This was taken before Maysie woke up @ 1:oo am. She is a shoe girl & demands to wear them at all times. The minimal PJs are because of the fever & Tee-Tee is a necessity, too! I just love this picture!
